Wasn't sure about picking this up to begin with, but so glad I did. Starts out kinda repetitive, but makes up for it all in spades in the last 2/3. Great music, great animation, and fantastic storytelling make this a win all-around.

Final duel with Touga, Utena has the power to revolutionize the world. But she finds out about Anthy's relationship with her brother. Soapy for sure, but great drama in the final stretch here. End of the World indeed.

Moving closer to resolution. Utena's memories of who Anthy really is are returning, and the truth will be revealed. Touga's final duel with Utena is coming, but I must wait till tomorrow to likely finish this masterpiece.

This is getting tasty. Who's the prince? Who's the Rose Bride? Everything we thought we knew is changed, and it doesn't feel contrived at all.

Since the duelists are pretty much known they spend more time on the duels, which is a good thing. Oh, Akio is a pimp. I mean, he's got a great car, great hair, gets all the ladies, and can drive while sitting on the hood of the car.

Is your animation budget low? Cue the montage to correct that issue. The animation is actually nice, just have to stretch the budget sometimes. Speaking of stretching, Utena stretching = HOT!
